Superconductivity World is abuzz again with new discoveries daily rolling out of labs in China, Japan, US, UK, Germany, Russia and the rest of the world. The pace of discovery and excitement almost rivals the coming of the cuprate superconductors in the mid-1980s and the surprise of Magnesium Diboride in the early years of the 21st century.
This time we are talking about "iron-superonductors". Superconductivity in compounds incorporating iron and at blazing temperatures as high as 56K! A lot of re-thinking is in progress on what constitutes a superconductor.
This blog is set up to update and inform, to discuss and debate the science and technology of superconductivity. It may sometimes entertain too. Contributions as opinions, critic and humour are welcome.
